Classic Italian Quartet
Welcome, music lovers, history buffs, and lovers of la dolce vita! Are you ready to hear a symphony of culture, where ancient stones serenade with whispers of empires past, and Renaissance brushstrokes dance in vibrant piazzas? Then prepare to embark on our Classic Italian Quartet tour, an eight-night masterpiece that blends the timeless melodies of Rome, Florence, Bologna, and Venice into an unforgettable odyssey.
This curated concerto starts in the Eternal City, where the Colosseum’s arches echo with gladiatorial roars, and the Pantheon’s dome whispers secrets of emperors. Let Trevi Fountain’s spray baptize your wanderlust, and savor a sunset gelato as the Spanish Steps blush golden.
Next, we waltz to Florence, where Michelangelo’s chisel crafted angels in marble, and Botticelli’s brush dipped in dreams. Dive into Uffizi’s Renaissance tapestry, then climb Brunelleschi’s Duomo dome for a breathless aria of the Tuscan hills. Let the Ponte Vecchio’s goldsmiths serenade you with clinking hammers, and lose yourself in the Accademia’s David, his chiselled perfection an ode to human potential.
From Florence’s artistic crescendo, we segue to Bologna, the culinary maestro of our quartet. Here, tagliatelle twirls in a parmesan parmesan, mortadella sings from cured lips, and ragu simmers its rich aria. Explore medieval squares where students debate over steaming plates, and discover secret food shops tucked away like precious notes. Learn to roll tortellini with a nonna, and let your taste buds compose their own symphony of delight.
Finally, we arrive in Venice, where gondolas glide like notes on a watery score, and palazzos rise from canals in an architectural chorus. Let the Doge’s Palace whisper courtly intrigues, and climb the Campanile for a breathtaking, operatic finale. Savor a spritz as gondoliers serenade under starlit skies, and witness the Bridge of Sighs whisper farewell to a city that lingers long after the last note fades.
Our Classic Italian Quartet is more than just a tour; it’s an immersion into the soul of Italy. It’s a chance to conduct your own cultural orchestra, where every cobblestone whispers a story, every artwork sings a passion, and every taste bud dances with delight. So, join us, maestro, and let Italy’s symphony play on!

Wow - we saw so much in a short period of time
The team at Will Travel really make it easy. Each part of the trip is well planned out. The selection of activities give you a great introduction/experience in each city. The free time is great as it lets you focus on the things you want to see, which is usually different to other members of the group. The itinerary is extremely accurate in terms of departure and arrival times, so it allows you to confidently pre-book your own activities for the free time portion in advance. The majority of our train travel was first class, which was a bonus too. I'd highly recommend them.
Great tour. Really easy for a first timer.
I had only ever been overseas once and it was to an English speaking country, so travelling to Europe frightened the daylights out of me. Thankfully I booked the Italy, Austria and Germany 21 day small group tour. There was only 6 of us and it was magical. The Will Travel team make it super easy and the locations of the hotels are spot on. Everything is in walking distance, so you don't waste any time. I'd highly recommend Will Travel.
Frequently asked questions
I'm a solo traveller, is there a single supplement?
There is a single supplement of $1,750 per person for this trip.
You can elect to share a room with another solo traveller of the same sex. If we can match you with another traveller, we will refund the single supplement at the end of the trip.
Is it hard to get around? Will I need to use taxis?
Our accommodation is generally right in the city centre, so all of the main attractions and conveniences are just a short walk from your hotel. This means no need to waste money on taxis!
We also use high speed rail connections to get between cities, so our hotels are not far from the main train stations.
When do the included activities occur?
This varies, but it is generally during the afternoon or evening on the day we arrive in the new city. The main purpose of the activity is to orientate yourself with the city so when your free time arrives, you can hit the ground running.
Do I need to purchase additional tours/activities?
There is so much to see and do in Italian towns and cities, you can certainly keep yourself occupied without the need to spend any additional money on extra activities. But that completely depends on the type of experience you want to have.
Some people are just happy to walk the streets, drink coffee and enjoy the awesome cuisine each area has to offer. Others want to jam as much in as they can, which means paying for extra experiences. An example of this is seeing the Vatican Museums or the Colosseum. You’ll need entry tickets to see the inside, but they are relatively inexpensive at $40 AUD for each.
What should I pack?
We recommend packing as little as possible. This will make it much easier when dealing with your luggage on the trains and getting on and off.
There are some great laundromats along the way, so you can get some washing done to help cut down on the number of clothes you need. Check out our blog on packing tips.
